Henry McKoy is currently a faculty member and director of entrepreneurship at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina within the School of Business. He is the former Assistant Secretary of Commerce for the State of North Carolina and has been invited to the White House to discuss how sustainable enterprise and impact investing fits with the new economy. McKoy is a sought-after national speaker and thought leader in the areas of community and economic development, social innovation and entrepreneurship, energy finance and the green economy, sustainability, and sustainable business development. While he was an undergraduate at UNC-Chapel Hill, he was a student-athlete on the track and field team and was inducted into the UNC Sports Hall of Fame.

Dr. Scott Ralls - President, Wake Tech (Speaker)

Before coming to Wake Tech, he served as president of Northern Virginia Community College from 2015-2019, president of the NC Community College System from 2008-2015, and president of Craven Community College in New Bern from 2002-2008. He has also worked from the NC Department of Commerce, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Department of Labor. A native of Charlotte, Dr. Ralls grew up in western North Carolina. He earned his bachelor’s degree at UNC-Chapel Hill and master’s and doctorate degrees in Industrial and Organization Psychology from the University of Maryland. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Distinguished Public Service Award from the North Carolina Chamber, and the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, North Carolina’s highest civilian honor.

As a key member of WCED’s business recruitment and expansion team, Albert Alwang coordinates all aspects of the business recruitment and expansion process and contributes to the overall BRE strategy. Prior to joining WCED, Albert served as an Economic Development Specialist at the Virginia Tech Office of Economic Development where he promoted economic growth throughout Virginia's communities and regions, by linking university resources and research with community organizations, non-profits, local government, and private businesses. His previous experience as a Research Assistant at Purdue University, the Center for Global Development, and International Center for Tropical Agriculture helped shape Albert’s career in Economic Development.

Lee serves as Chief Executive Officer of Triangle J COG, representing the region’s local governments and their regional interests in the North Carolina General Assembly. He works closely with member municipal and county managers to address the administration of local governments, and constantly seeks to secure local government revenue sources. Jon Keener is Managing Partner of Trustwell Property Group that is developing the Eastern Wake Innovation Park, which will be 300,000 square feet when completed. It will be built at the intersection of East Garner and Jones Sausage roads. Its location is just down the road from the coming Amazon fulfillment center and the White Oak Crossing shopping center, two of the town’s important economic centers. This is the largest office development in Garner's history.

Stephen Dorn is the Director of Land Planning and Entitlements for national residential developer, Lennar Corporation. Lennar will be building one of the largest residential developments in Garner history. Edge of Auburn will be built in 5 phases and will bring over 800 homes to Garner.
